Exercising faith over fear

Father in Heaven, I pray these words will reach those who are feeling fear during this time and that it brings comfort. In Jesus name, Amen.

Well since we all seem to be staying at home these days, let’s gather around the table and chat! How are you feeling during this distressing time? Are you feeling fear? Are you feeling anxiety? Are you feeling peace?

So much uncertainty is swirling around us and various news stories are offering conflicting opinions. Hospitals are overflowing, grocery stores are overwhelmed, and our hearts may be overcome with the shaky unknown.

“Use wisdom” they say.

“Wash your hands” they say.

“Stay away from those who have compromised immune systems” they say.

You know what really needs to be advised? “Trust in the Lord”.

Of course we need to take precautions and keep everyone safe. But in the midst of all of it, our trust in God should be at the top of the “how to stay safe” list. It’s every bit as vital as washing our hands or sneezing into our arm. You know what the greatest part of trusting God is? It can never be sold out or out of stock!

Romans 8:18 says “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

God’s glory will be revealed. Nothing happens without His knowledge and He will see each one of us through these tumultuous times. It may seem as though He is far away and simply unleashed this virus on the earth. But friends please understand that All things work together for good to those who love and trust Him. (Romans 8:28)

God’s plan is so much more involved then we can see or understand. Trust comes in in those times. If we knew all He knew, we would have no reason for faith or trust. Just as we exercise the hand washing, arm sneezing, sanitize wiping rituals, we must exercise faith over fear. Practice the same diligence of sanitation, in prayer and quiet time with the Lord. Make it the first thing you do in the morning and before you lay your head back on the pillow at night. Stay close to God and cleanse yourself with His words of comfort.

Father I pray for all of us to be protected from this virus that is so threatening. Lord watch over our families and friends. Give us peace in these uncertain times. Forgive our fear Lord and fill us with Your peace. May we remember to lean on You and cling to Your word always. In Jesus name, Amen.

Stay safe table family and please feel free to keep in touch with me here or Email any private prayer requests. I’m here to pray for you any way I can. My prayers and love to you all.
